The 1891 Scottish census said he was born in Banbridge, County Down around 1857.
Marriage record: father was named William McKeown and mother named Jane Russell.
Death record: father was named James McKeown and mother named Jean Russell.
I understand that Jane and Jean can be used interchangeably, but I don't know how William can become James.
Since father and son were both named 'William' perhaps 'James' was the father's middle name or nickname to distinguish father and son?
