When trying to trace the antecedents of my grandmother Nora Fitzgerald  (1861-1943)in Athea I found out that her father Thomas Fitzgerald (died in 1881) lived and farmed in Tooradoo in Athea and had a large family, which I have gained a lot of basic information about. However, a newspaper article based on the funeral attendants of Edward Fitzgerald of Glensharrold in Carrickerry Limerick  (died August 1910) claimed that Thomas Fitzgerald's of Tooradoo children and Edward T Fitzgerald of Knocknasnaa, as well as, the Glensharrold Fitzgerald's were related. I am finding it difficult to ascertain how this is so. All help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ellen

  • Hi Patricia,

Please find the enclosed info which I received from a member of the Glensharrold Fitzgerald clan.

I have found the connection between the Tooradoe Fitzgeralds and the Railway Bar Fitzgeralds in Abbeyfeale but am stuck with ascertaining how they are connected to the Knocknasnaa Fitzgeralds.

I look forward to hearing from you

    Best wishes,

    Ellen
