Are you sure that the marriage took place in Ireland and not in the U.S.? I was looking at some Ancestry trees and saw that the couple's first child, Bernard Carey, was born in Ogdensburg, NY, a year after their marriage. I also saw that Richard Carey was said to have emigrated several years before that. Maybe they married in Ogdensburg? Just a thought. Good luck!
