Catherine Lee was born in Tour Newport Co. Tipperary

She was known as Kate to her family and friends and she had a twin sister Norah. They came fourth in a family of ten children born to John and Mary Lee. They lived on a farm in the small village of Tour Newport at the foot of Keeper Hill in North Tipperary. Kate decided to enter Religious life at the young age of seventeen. She was the first of her family to emigrate to America and enter religious life. Her twin sister Norah followed her as did her sisters Winifred and Ellen.

They all joined the Sisters of Charity Convent of the Incarnate Word San Antonio Texas. Kate traveled to Queenstown with three of her friends from Tour Newport Co Tipperary, all entering the same order to board the Ship the Baltic bound for Ellis Island New York. They departed on the 18th of August and arriving in New York on the 27th of August 1920. When she joined the order she chose teaching as her profession. She paid her own passage and had $50 on her person. She was 5ft 1 in height, had grey eyes, dark hair and a fair complexion.

On the 23rd of July 1932 Catherine sailed from Southampton arriving in Ellis Island New York on the 1st of August. She had taken the name Stanislaus when she joined the order. At that time the Sisters entered for life that time never to come home. It states on the ship manifest that she was naturalized in the District Court in San Antonio Texas on June 11th 1927.
