Anthony Dowd was born on 31 Aug 1881, in Easky, County Sligo, Ireland, to Michael and Mary Wall (Walls or Wald). He arrived in New York City on 28 Aug 1899 on the Majestic, which left the port of Queensland (Cobh) on 22 Apr 1899. He married Margaret Carrigan, and they had three children together, Margaret, Mary, and Rose. Maggie passed away in 1913. He married Bridget O'Donnell in 1915, and they had two children together, Helen and Anne. He died on September 27, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, at the age of 59.
