Hi I am posting from Australia. I have a John Mcconville marrying a Mary Mooney in Clonallan County Down about 1826. my ancestor Bridget Mcconville tried County Louth for stealing on several occasions...mostly ducks and chooks along in company with others. She was tried and sent to Van Diemens in 1851. She had a child with her by then. I beliece lots McConvilles in Coutny Down. Lorraine Carter

Hi Lorraine from sunny Perth. Yes, there are lots of McConvilles that lived in County Down in 1800s. It would be too good to be true if your John McC was related to our three brothers (Anthony, Isaac and James) who came over and settled in Ballarat in the mid 1800s. Do you have an Ancestry Tree? Have you DNA tested yet? Would love to explore if there is a connection. My email is lfvroberts@gmail.com. Look forward to hearing from you. Lynne Roberts
