Arthur was the son of Thomas Evans and Jane Godfrey (1805). Thomas was born in Armagh in 1805 but his son Arthur was born in Castledawson, Derry.
Arthur married Elizabeth Donnelly in 1853 and they both emmigrated to Australia on the "Charles" in Oct 1853 .
