Born about 1830 and immigrated around 1854 to Boston area (Rockland, MA), married Susan O'Connell, worked as a bootmaker and moved to Chicago in 1864. He had four brothers all who immigrated - Michael, Hugh, James and Patrick. His parents were Michael and Mary (or Mariam) nee Sullivan. Austin died in 1875 in Chicago in what we suspect could have been an accident. Susan died in 1896 in Chicago. I have very good records of the family in the U.S. but frustratingly stalled for decades on where in Clare they originated.
