Migrated to/Born in Australia
We have no Irish records of Benjamin Ford, his parents and siblings. What we know has been passed down through the family; he was born Bandon, Co Cork, Ireland; his father, Robert Ford was a farmer and his mother was Eliza.
Just recently came across a marriage for a Robert Ford & Eliza Hornibrook, Ross Co. Cork in 1827. (Ireland, Diocesan & Prerogative Marriage License Bonds Indexes 1623-1866)
They may be Benjamin's parents, as he was born in c1835.
The family were Church of England, as far as we know, and Benjamin may have arrived in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in about 1865 on board "The SS Great Britain", then went to Moyston, in Western Victoria, probably for the gold.
Any help appreciated.
