Barney Donaue was likely born between 1810 and 1813 in or around Saint Johnstown. He emigrated around 1840 to Philadelphia and settled for the next several years in South Amboy, New Jersey. While there he married Anna Malone and shortly after moved with his wife and her family to Wisconsin where he spent the rest of his days; eventually passing away in 1893 as the father of 11 children.
