Migrated to/Born in Australia

Bridget Culleton/Colleton, a servant, migrated to Adelaide, South Australia aboard Confiance in 1854, age 21.  Her parents were Thomas Colleton/Culleton and Mary Whelan/Phelan? from Watree via Gowran, Kilkenny. Bridget married Johann Traugott WEINERT a farmer, at Lobethal, SA and they had nine children. She died named Mary Ann WEINERT,  aged 84 years, in 1919 and is buried at the Lobethal cemetery.

She was accompanied by Anne Williams, age 18 years,  b 1833 father Michael Williams, mother Biddy Nolan, from Coolacuttia, Paulstown, Kilkenny, and they both married German men from Lobethal South Australia. Anne was witness at Bridget's wedding in 1856. Sadly Anne has no descendants of her own.

I was able to trace Bridget through Anne. I found them together on the shiplist for the Confiance. If it hadn't been for this clue I would never have traced her heritage as every time her name was recorded it had a different spelling. The name on the shiplist is Collenan and her marriage is Collinson. The surname for each birth was different eg Colton, Coulighan etc
