I have a John Grace b. abt. 1820 in Ireland, married to Catherine Hanrahan b. abt. 1819. They had possible three children, Mary b.1847 ?, Ellen (Broderick) Grace b. 1848 and my Great Great Grandfather William Patrick Grace (blacksmith) b. 1851 in Cheshire, Berkshire , Massachusetts. Catherine Hanrahan Grace married Richard Skeehan 04 March 1954 in Pittsfield, Berkshire, Massachusetts. Assuming John Grace died somewhere between 1851-1854. I have matched by dna to Broderick's and Costello's.

Hi Karen,

My greatgrandfather was William Grace, he was a blacksmith. I have no details of him and cannot trace. His son John Grace, also a blacksmith, married Eliza Toohey, their daughter was Bridget Grace who married my Grandfather Thomas Costello. My Dad, James Costello b. 1901 took over the family business and was also a blacksmith.

We have the name Patrick Grace within our family tree, a son of John's.

I have no connetion that I know of to Skeehan's, Broderick or Hanrahan.

The John, William and Patrick names are interesting together with the blacksmith connetcion.

Hi Seamus,

I have a John T. Grace born 1884-1920, born in Cheshire, Massachussetts. His father was William P. Grace b.1851 in Cheshire, Massachussetts, wife Catherine Prout. They had 15 children, John T being the 8th child, my grandfather Eddie Grace b. 1890 was 11th child. His father John Grace b.1820? born somewhere in Ireland, married to Catherine Hanrahan.

Do you have any birth years for your William, John or Bridget Grace? Have you taken any DNA test? Do you know if any of them came to the USA?

My brother and I have our DNA on 23andme, my sister's is on Ancestry. We are all on Gedmatch.com I do have some DNA matches with the name Costello on Gedmatch.
