Bridget was born in 1862 in Corlattylanon to Patrick Keappock of Drumhilla and Bridget Clarke of Corravilla. She travelled to Queenslaand in 1880 on the Silver Eagle with her cousin Mary O'Reilly.
After spending some time in Maryborough with the Buss family Bridget settled in Gympie where she married a Scot - James Muray Tennant. They had four children: Myrtle Mary, Vera Annie (Veronica Ann), James Neil and Dorothy Marguerite.
