Catherine left Callan in 1858 with sister Margaret and settled in White Water, Wisconsin for one year.  The moved to Freeport, Illinois before marrying John F Kennedy in Mount Carroll, Illinois who was a teacher at Cork College.  John and Catherine settled in Erin Township, Stephenson Co., Illinois.  Catherine and Margaret both lived in Erin Township, Stephenson Co., Illinois.
