Catherine Maria Tierney was born in March 1872 to Stephen Tierney and Margaret Whelan in Dromquin, Co. Clare. She moved to Somerville, Massachusetts in 1890-1891 and married Michael Hogan in 1897. Michael Hogan died in 1905 and she remarried Thomas J Hennelly of Gort, Galway (Kilbeacanty Parish) that same year. She resided in Somerville, Mass. She had 7 children. 2 with Michael Hogan and 5 with Thomas Hennelly.
