I don't know what happened to her husband Richard Britt. I know that in the 1880 US Federal Census for Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, Catherine had remarried to a man by the name of William Kennedy and they had two children: John born circa 1875 and Johanna born circa 1877.
The 1880 census listed William, James, Richard, Patrick and Michael with the surname of Kennedy. This is wrong; their surname is Britt. The only children of this household with surname name of Kennedy are John and Johanna.
