Curious if Cecilia McDonnell is related to my 2nd great grandmother, Jane McDonnell who emigrated to Canada, then Philadelphia. Married Terence Quinn about 1862 and moved to New Jersey about 1874.

My great grandmother was Barbara McDonel / McDonnell (married Patrick Misset / Messett in 1856) in Kilglass. Witnesses were Patrick Finegan and Anna McDonel (maybe a sister?) Patrick and Barbara had 10 children - John, Ann, Garrett, Brigit, Patrick, Ellen, Mary, Barbara, Margaret and Michael.
I believe Barbara was born approx. 1833. Patrick and Barbara settled in Scranton PA. I believe she died there approx 1886 but am unable to find death records for her.
I am looking for any connections to the McDonel / McDonnell family.

My 2nd great grandmother was Jane McDonnell, daughter of Charles Alexander McDonnell and Bridget Doherty. While Charles and Jane ended up in Philadelphia, Bridget's brother, Patrick Doherty, emigrated in the 1860's to the Scranton, PA area. Apparently the Wayne County Historical Society in Honesdale has some genealogical information on the Doherty family, perhaps others.
Have you done any DNA testing? I have a very distant DNA match to the family in the original post - Cecilia McDonnell.
