Charles McCormick (1810-1880) appears in a fragment of the 1831 Irish Census at Ballymaquigan, parish of Artrea County Derry. He married to Mary Ann McGill as noted above on 9 APR 1834. In 1851, he and his wife and older children appear in the Scottish Census at Stevenston, Ayrshire including a son John born about 1850 in Scotland. In the Scottish Census for 1861, his oldest son James (2 FEB 1835- JUN 1932) and wife, Margery (Margaret) Docherty (1839-1907)are at Commondyke, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland with their oldest children. In September and October of 1866 respectively, James and his father, Charles McCormick became US citizens (documents on file in courthouse, Beaver County, Pennsylvania USA). By the 1870, US Census for Charles and Mary Ann and son John are residing next door to oldest son James (1835-1932) and his family in northern Beaver County, PA. At the time of his death, because of runaway horses while driving a wagon in MAY 1880, Charles resided at Hoytdale in nearby southern Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. As noted above, both Charles and his wife are buried at St. Mary's cemetery near New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, USA -- as are a number of their descendants.
