Daniel was the son of William Hogan and Catty Purcell of Terryglass.
Daniel Hogan married Catherine Higgins and had a son Patrick also born in Terryglass. They left Ireland in 1856 for Liverpool, England where they sailed on the Ship "The City Of Washington".They settled in Trenton,New Jersey.
Catherine Higgins Hogan's mother was Bridget and she had 2 brothers ,Thomas and Michael.
