David Toole was born at Forkhill, County Armagh in 1804. David was the son of Henry Toole and Jane Irene née Little. David Toole emigrated to Australia with his wife Maria (née Locke) in 1841 on board the “Adam Lodge”. They were previously married in 1839. Maria was born in 1820. David and Maria were Bounty Immigrants and had paid 19 pounds for their fare. The eldest of their eight children, Ann Jane, was born during the long voyage.
They were farming people and eventually settled south-west of Sydney, NSW. David died at Phil’s River, in 1885 and his wife Maria passed away in 1896. They are both buried at Bolong, Anglican Church Cemetery, Georgiana County, New South Wales, Australia.
