Denis Hurley was part of the Peter Robinson settlers who left Ireland for Ontario, Canada in 1825. He was married to Catharine Sullivan and had six children: Bridget, Michael, Margaret, John, Honora & Ellen. They boarded the ship Star & departed Cobh, County Cork on May 13, 1825. The ship manifest lists both Denis and Catherine as 40 yrs old at the time of the sailing in 1825. That would make both birth years 1785. However, Denis' grave marker states he died in 1850 & was 69 yrs old. That would make his birth year 1781. The parish of Kilcomonoge comes from the ship manifest. In an 1827 survey Denis states that he was a fisherman in Ireland. I have not been able to find any other documented evidence of his life in Ireland.
