Denis and wife Mary emigrated first to St. John’s New Brunswick, and then settled in Monmouth County, NJ before moving to Iowa County, Iowa in 1857 where he “broke the prairie” and built a farm in Holbrook, an Irish settlement with many others from Kilbegnet area.
Died in September 1887 and buried in Holbrook, Iowa in St. Michael’s cemetery.
