Denis Tyne married Bridget Ryan ca. 1830. Three children were baptized in the Roman Catholic parish of Gortnahoe: Bridget (14 Apr 1841), John (19 Oct 1843) and Philip (14 Dec 1846). The baptism records show that they resided at Grange. Two older children Mary (b. ca. 1839) and Ann (b. ca. 1840), baptism records not found. Mary, the oldest child, migrated to New York in July 1859 on the ship John Bright. Her brother John migrated in May 1865 on the ship Etna. Ann married, in New York City in Jan 1861, Patrick Wheeler. The parents, Denis and Bridget, are first found in New York records in the census of Jun 1870. By 1880 they had moved to Becket, Massachusetts, to live with their son John and his wife Bridget Young.
