Migrated to New York/Born in Ireland

My great-great-grandfather, Dennis McAuliffe, was born in Cork City, Cork Ireland circa 1810-1813.

His parents were Ann Allen and Dennis McAuliffe as stated in the record of his second marriage to Mary Josephine Wymbs McGowan in St. Louis, Missouri on August 22, 1852, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in downtown St. Louis.

I have also found his parents' marriage on December 30, 1787, in the church records of St. Finbarr's Catholic Church, Cork & Ross South Parish, as well as a possible baptismal record for Dennis and several siblings.  Many of these records mention that the family lives on Tobin Street in Cork City.

He may have arrived in New York City sometime in the 1830s, but a conclusive passenger list has not been found yet.

A daughter, Margaret, was born in New York circa 1837-1840 according to US Census records.  Because New York Vital Records do not start until the 1850s, I do not have a birth record for her.

Nor do I have a name or death date of his first wife.

He was a tailor by trade.

Dennis migrated to St. Louis, Missouri sometime around 1850 and remarries in 1852.  He and his family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri where my great-grandmother, Mary Agnes McAuliffe was born in 1860.

The family moved back to St. Louis where Dennis died on September 21, 1875, and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
