Born in Co Limerick, the youngest son of Edmund Crowe & Margaret Bradshaw (originally from Cappawhite, Tipperary). Baptised 30 Mar 1837, name recorded as CROWE, sponsors Patrick White & Maria Brown.
Edmund married Catherine Connell at the parish church of Nicker, Co Limerick in 1860 (witnesses Thomas Dundon & Mary Hanly). The couple lived in the townland of Cross, and six children were born to them there, two of whom died in infancy. In 1874 Edmund and family emigrated to South Australia, arriving in Pt Adelaide on the "St Vincent" on November 5. Four deaths were reported on board during the voyage and four births, including that of Kate Vincent Crowe, born the day the ship arrived in St VIncent's Gulf. According to Robert Anderson, grandson of Edmumd & Catherine, the St Vincent sailed from Cork and Waterford to London and Plymouth, then to Australia, but newspaper and Immigrant Ship's Papers only refer to the ship sailing from London & Plymouth. It is likely that the family sailed from Cork to London by steamer.Three more daughters were born in South Australia. Also according to Bob Anderson, Edmund sponsored 19 year old Tom Corcoran, grandfather of one time Premier of SA, Des Corcoran, who sailed on the same voyage. The family lived at Virginia, Allendale and Mount Gambier. Edmund worked as a labourer and as a ganger and foreman for the SA Railways on the Mount Gambier - Beachport line, stationed at Mt Gambier. Edmund signed his name with a cross on the birth certificates of his Irish born children. He was said to be a man of sober habits, except on St Patrick's day when he used to celebrate. Edmund's elder brother James Edward, army pensioner, travelled to Western Australia with his family in 1863 as a member of the convict guard on the convict ship 'Clyde'. After four years in the Swan River colony he brought his family to the colony of South Australia and later sponsored Edmund & family to some to Australia.

THe information about the Crowe-Bradshaw marriage and kids was given to a group in Australia in 2017 who were trying to find their way back into Ireland. the info proved useful and a vers small part of what is written here but was it posted by the same groups / individuals who have now posted this? How can I know if it is a different person(s)?
I do not recall posting any information on the Crowe-Bradshaw family on the above website but some time back I had an email from a person who was not related to my family but seemed to have done a bit of research on them. She mentioned a Seamus Crowe in Ireland who knew about the family and said she would pass on my details. I've heard nothing since, and unfortunately it seems I have not kept her email.
There are, however, several descendants of Edmund & Margaret in Australia that I know of who are actively researching the family.

Thanks for the reply, I think itmust be the same group. It started with James McMahon in 2017? The research has become extensive in the last couple of years and as a group they are now actively spreading out the roots in Australia. So, much so that I lost the flow of it myself.
Despite the Irish name and heart I am not living in Ireland yet due to the virus shenanigans.
One thing to note here is there was a huge crowd (hundreds of families) of Crowes (a murder if you like!) between Solohead and Clonoulty and then many in the parishes adjoining. The Cappawhite and Solohead Crowes and Clonoulty Crowes, including my own group adjoining in Kilcommon were always related but almost a different sept if I can put it that way. I think they probably arrived a t different times from Co Clare. At the time of the contact I was still actively sorting my personal group and the rest of Tipperary and knew the Australian connection was from a different group and had to let it go. At some point this connection or 'bridge' as I call it will be posted on the Crowe website.
So, the question for me now, is do you have Crowes in your tree? :) It occurs that your contact may be a woman called Louise? It would be good to chat about this further?
