Edward Brenan married Frances Carpenter (born circa 1823) daughter of Henry Carpenter & Frances.
Before leaving Ireland for NZ from London - departing 28 October 1864 aboard the Ernestina they had William, Mary, Sarah, Henry, - my great grandfather Richard born 1855 in Dublin, Fanny, Joseph and Lyndon. The family arrived in NZ in 1865 and settled in Auckland.
I've been unable to find any birth, marriage records for Edward, Frances Henry Carpenter or their children.
When Sarah Brenan was married in NZ the wedding notice appearing in the newspaper stated that she was the granddaughter of Henry Carpenter Esq. merchant from Dublin.
