Edward Carr was born around 1810 in Ireland. He married Martha Goslin in 1832 (Public Record Office of Ireland Marriage License Bonds, Diocese of Ossory).
It seems that they must have emigrated to Canada soon after their wedding as their eldest child, Eliza, was born in Canada in 1834 per the 1851 Census of Canada West (Elizabethtown, Leeds County, Ontario). Daughters Martha, Sarah June and Alice M, 9, 7 and 4 repectively and son Thomas. age 2 are also listed. All are reflected as farmers and belong to the English Church (CoE).
Edwards father, Jonathan, age 80,is listed on the 1851 Canadian census but not on any further records. Unable to locate any death record in Canada.
Martha died Feb 6, 1875 in Brockville, Ontario and her death certificate states that she was born in County Wicklow, Ireland
Edward's date of death is unknown but was after Martha's.
