Edward ,(1821-1878) the son of Ellen and Patrick King  arrived in Australia in 1844.His brother John (1815-1889)and wife Mary(Anglim) and their daughter Catherine had arrived in 1841. All were bounty immigrants. Possibly John arriving first sponsored Edwards journey.

The brothers had worked for, and Edward had a reference from ,Nicholas Prendergast of Iragh townland

The  brothers married and settled in  country Victoria Australia..Edward at Kilmore ,and John near Wangaratta at Boorhaman.

Edward met his wife from Kilkenny  in Melbourne, - and followed her back to Thomastown  Kilkenny where they married, later returning to Victoria

Apart from some genetic clues to cousins in the United States-  records of this family have to date have not been located

An Australian will indicates links to Halloran, Bolton and Ryans
