The information I provide here is unconfirmed and in most cases I'm not certain if it is correct.
His father was Thomas Michael Murphy, possibly born in Dec 1862 in Castleconor, Cl Sligo. His mother was Catherine Mary? Swain, possibly born in 1860.
I believe Edward himself was possibly born in Blackrock, Co Cork in January 1885. His enlistment papers for the Australian Army state that he was 31yrs and 11mths of age in Dec 1916.
At this stage I do not know of any siblings.
On 15 Sept 1915 he married Ada Mitchell in Warren, a country town in New South Wales, Australia. They had three children
Mona Margaret Murphy, born in Warren on 24 Sept 1915, Eric William Edward Murphy, born on 3 Oct 1916 in Orange, NSW and Eileen Yvonne Murphy, born on 5 Oct 1919 in Cobar, NSW.
Edward Michael Murphy died tragically on 2 Sept 1925 after having been run over by a train in Werribee, Victoria a town outside Melbourne.
