Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in Australia

Born Tipperary, possibly Bansha/Templeinery

This is information about his son Edward O'Connor . He was the registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages in addition to being a journalist in Kyneton, previously a gold rush town.
He was highly literate and I am wondering how he became so, as I assumed an education in Bansha (?) in the early 1800s would have been rare.
His father Edmund is listed here as Ed Cart , could it have been that he was really Edward Carthy or Edward McCarthy ?

The year sounds right and he did marry Mary O'Farrell in Ireland.
His family immigrated to Victoria in 1861 onboard The Chariot of Fame as follows:

Jan 1862 • Hobson's Bay, Williamstown, Victoria, Australia

Immigration Hobson's Bay, Williamstown, Victoria, Australia Immigration Ireland to Australia (Melbourne; Hobson's Bay) travelled onboard Chariot of Fame with mother; Patrick 18, James 14, John 11, and Edward 9

record  187018

Unassisted, so the family had money.

I think his father Edmund must have died circa 1860 which led the family to migrate to Victoria, Australia.
