  • Interesting, Warkton is a small Village next to The Duke Of Buccleuch Estate Boughton House, it is around 5 miles from where I live.  I have been inside Warkton Church as it has some tombs of the former Dukes. Next time I am passing I will have a look around the Churchyard.

I have an interest in the McGinty name as it appears in several generations down the years in my Boyle and Dunnion families.

  • Ellen married my 3xG Grandfather, Benjamin Law  in 1817. Benjamin rented a cottage and garden on the Montagu Boughton Estate from 1817 to 1856 when he stopped being a tenant. 2 of his sons, Samuel and Benjamin also rented cottages there. This information came from the Manor of Warkton records.I had some research done for me and it was suggested that Ellen may have been a house employee. Are there any records for house staff. Were perhaps Ellen's parents employed in the area. According to census records Benjamin snr. and Sam were farm labourers. Benjamin and Ellen were eventually both in the Poor House.

This is all the information I have for them.
