  • Hi, I have Faulkner family members who arrived from Ireland in the early 1850's. I wonder if the families are connected?

  • Can you provide more information?  Faulkner is a common name.  My Eliza Faulkner did have other relatives who immigrated to New York also but I'd need more info to see if we are connected.  I have found some DNA connections to those families on Ancestry and would be happy to find more here.

  • I believe my ancestors were Catholic and all came from Northern Ireland (Derry area - at least were there in the early 1800's). Names of interest on my side were Thomas (abt 1795), Mary b. 1821, James b 1830, Margaret b 1837 and Bridget b 1853. All came to Philadelphia. Also related to a branch in Chicago. I am also on Ancestry DNA, although the only Faulkner DNA connections were with the Chicago branch.

  • Hi again,  My Faulkner ancestors were from Co Westmeath, as noted in my first post, so I don't see a connection with anyone from Derry.  I don't know of a Philadelphia or Chicago connection but of couse other siblings might have gone there.  There were a number of Faulkners in Ireland so if you're sure your family was from Derry, I don't know how to make the connection. Wish I had better news.
