Elizabeth Beirne was the daughter of Luke Beirne (farmer) and Winifred McManus. Her baptism record states "Roman Catholic, Killucan and Ballinameen, Roscommon. She was the youngest of 9 children (Patrick/1826, Brigid/1827, Winifred/1831, Luke/1834, Matthew/1836, & Mary 1836-1837 twins, Catherine/1837, and Mary 1841).
She married "Thomas Kelly of Corrigeen son of "James Kelly (Dead)" and (Anne Lanaghan -his mother's name crossed out when it was realized (?) that the "space" was for the Bride's name) Elizabeth Beirne daughter of Luke Beirne (Dead)" on April 15, 1872 in Diocese of Elphin, Ballinameen, Ireland.
She gave birth to 9 children: MaryAnn/1873, Twins Winifred and Brigid(Delia)/1874, James/1877, Stepen/1878, Thomas/1879, Michael/1881, Patrick/1884, and Luke/1886.
Elizabeth died on January 4, 1900 at Carrigeenagappul/Corrigeen Roscommon and was buried in the Killynagh More Graveyard,Killina, Roscommon. The he exact wording of her epitaph: "IHS SACRED HEART OF JESUS HAVE MERCY ON THE SOUL OF ELIZA KELLY WHO DIED 4TH JAN. 1900 AGED 54 YEARS, ALSO HER HUSBAND THOMAS KELLY WHO DIED 3RD DEC. 1915 AGED 72 YEARS. ERECTED BY HER LOVING HUSBAND THOMAS KELLY AND SONS R. 1. P."
