  • I looked up your record on IrishGenealogy.ie. It shows Martin as a Crane. Probably not unusual to have multiple spellings. He's from Knockglass Beg, and she's from Cappaclogh East/West or Capparlogh. Both are in Kerry, and located West of Tralee. List of County Kerry Townlands are here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_townlands_of_County_Kerry. You can search for individual townlands, like Knockglass Beg, here: https://www.townlands.ie/kerry/corkaguiny/kilgobban/knockglass/knockgla…. • For unknown reasons, Ellen Dowd's parents immigrated to the USA after the birth of their last child in 1860.  James Dowd Jr (1812-1879) and Honora Dowd (1824-1869) settled in Holyoke, Massachusetts with three of their children.  We know the name of the cemetery, in Massachusetts, of the gravesites of Ellen Dowd's parents.  As of today, 4/1/2021, we do not know the date of the emigration from Ireland of James and Honora Dowd.  We do not know the burial site of Ellen Dowd!

  • Ellen resided in Camp with her husband.  They may have been married in the chapel in or near Camp.  There is no cemetery there, to our knowledge.

  • SLPinMONTANA - You might find this website helpful: http://kerryburials.com. It's run by Joe Maher. He has a Facebook group as well. The website links to 2 cemeteries, which are near Camp, one of which is this one that has some older Crean stones: http://93.107.35.189:280/Kilgobbin/Kilgobbin%20Camp%20Cemetery,%20Kerry… It has a Martin Crean who was the Governor of the Tralee Gaol. Maybe your relative? The other cemetery has newer Crean stones - one a Martin Crean from Knockglossbeg: http://93.107.35.189:280/Camp/Camp%20Cemetery,Kerry.html.  So, you might have relatives still living in that area that could know about your Ellen Dowd. BTW, I went to Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, with an Ann Dowd (she became an actress) - she was from Holyoke. I remember her saying her family was from out near Dingle, which Camp isn't to far from.
