(Maria) Ellen Myers b circa 1830 to Davyd Myers and Julia King (1804-1847). Her maternal grandparents were Matthew King b circa 1783 and Mary Brosnan b circa 1780. Ellen's family were victims of the Potato Famine. Presumably she was in a workhouse in Limerick where she was selected to go to Australia. She arrived into Geelong on 14 May 1849 aboard the "Pemberton" and then into Port Phillip Bay on 26 May. She could read and write and was a Roman Catholic. She married Thomas Latham, a convict, the same year. They had 10 children. She remained in Australia dying on 25th March 1869 after an accident with boiling water.
