Felix [or Phelix] McCabe was born in March 1812 [or 1813] in County Monaghan, Ireland.

In 1841 he married Mary Carroll.

In 1846 the couple emigrated to the United States and settled in Benton, Lafayette County, Wisconsin,  By 1856 they had moved to Kendaltown, Wisconsin, and in 1895 they settled in Mineral Point, Iowa County, Wisconsin.

The couple had 10 children.

Mr. McCabe became a naturalized US citizen.

Mrs. McCabe died on March 3, 1900, and is buried in St. Paul Cemetery, Mineral Point, Wisconsin. After his wife's death, Mr. McCabe lived with one of his daughters.

Felix McCabe died on January 20, 1906, at the age of 94 and is buried near his wife in St. Paul Cemetery, Mineral Point, Wisconsin. His obituary called him "A man of a kindly nature."
