My great grandfather was Thomas McMorrow, born in Manorhamilton. He was a boot or shoemaker and got married to a Bridget Burke in Dublin in April 1876. His father was Felix McMorrow (also apparently a boot or shoemaker) and his mother's name was Catherine. I have been unable to find out any more information about Felix or Thomas. Thomas had a daughter Mary Catherine in June 1876, and a son Thomas (my great grandfather) in 1878. Both were born in Dublin. But his wife, Bridget, remarried, as a widow in 1886. There is no record of a bootmaker Thomas dying in Dubin at this time (but there is a record of a Shoemaker - Thomas McMorrow - dying in Manorhamilton Workhouse in 1878 at the age of 35 (noted as single though). I found a Felix McMurray owning land in Cornastuck for Griffith's Evaluation. I'd very much appreciate any guidance as to how I could find out more about Thomas' family in Manorhamilton. I saw some earlier postings which stated that all of Felix' children emigrated to the U.S. Just wondering if this is another Felix...or did one child remain, go to Dublin, get married and die relatively young?

Some U.S. documents show my 2nd great grandfather, Terrence McMurray being from County Leitrim. Others show him from County Sligo. Other than Terrence possibly being born in one county and having traveled from another, I've not discovered anything more definitive on his origin.
Terrence was born c1825. His parents may have been Michael McMurray and Brigit Walpole. The family was Catholic.
The first record I have of his being in America is when he arrived in Oregon City [Oregon Territory] via the Oregon Trail in 1852.
