She and brother John Gallagher ( b. 1830) orphaned during the Famine between 1847-1852. Both arrived together in New York City about 1853. Worked as a domestic servant for a time.
Married Patrick C. McFadden in NYC in 1866.
Children in order of birth were Mary A McFadden, b. 1869, Charles Francis b. 1870, and John, born 1872. Moved to Canton Illinois( Fulton County) in 1874.
Died in 1918 in Peoria, Illinois of the influenza epidemic.
Grandson was Clarence Charles McFadden, b. 1909, and granddaughter Grace Elizabeth, b 1898.
Footnote: Grace Elizabeth's son was Tommy Todd ( 1922-1984) a notable pianist and music arranger of the Big Band era and later a teacher, whose music performances are still popular.
