Hannah Henning was born in Killeen Armagh in 1854. She had 5 sisters and 5 brothers, some of whom migrated to America. Her mother was Mary Emerson, father John Henning. John is purported to have been a shoemaker, but information about him is very sketchy. Mary was possibly born in Dublin.

When George's wife died, he married Hannah. They had 6 children - 5 girls and 1 boy. The youngest girl was my grandmother. Hannah is said to have been a kind, gentle person.
