HANORA Flynn  baptised 25 Oct 1840 in Dromtariffe, Cork was my gr grandmother.

Her father was James Flynn b 11.01.1812 and her mother was Margaret Casey b 31.12.1820.  Hanora married a Simon Flynn  b 1836 Drumagh (? relation) on 12 Feb 1860 in Dromatriff.

In 1865 Hanora and Simon together with son Simon (baptised Dromtariff 16 March 1861) and baby daughter emigrated to  Queensland, Australia in Sailing Ship "Sultana"  arriving in Maryborough Queensland 1866. After some years in Maryborough they settled in Bundaberg, Queensland where Simon Snr purchased 1,000 acres on Fairymead Road, Tantitha, North Bundaberg and lived there will their deaths. In 1889 Simon Jnr purchased the "Seaview Sugar Plantation" where like all plantations of the time employed Kanakas. Simon and Hanora had 14 children in all - many of whom are buried in the Flynn Family Plot in Bundaberg Catholic Cemetery. Simon and Hanora are remembered by a beautiful large stained glass window  in the Holy Rosary Catholic Bundaberg.

One of Simon and Hanora's children was Bridget (twin of Michael) born 1880 Bundaberg Qld.

Bridget was my Grandmother.
