Helen (Ellen) Garrigan (Gargan) was born on the townland of Seeharn, Mullagh, Cavan to Thomas Gargan and Catherine Clarke. She emigrated to Dundee, Scotland with the family and married James Malloy. She had 3 children, the first, Bridget, died in infancy, then James, and finally John who died in 1918 during WW1. Helen worked as a Jute Warper in the Dundee Jue Mills for most of her life. When her husband died in 1907 in the Blythe Shipyards she then married Patrick Dailly, also a widower. They had no children together. Helen died of a stroke at Maryfield Hospital, Dundee at the age of 74.
