Have found out more about Henry. He suffered from PTSD after the land wars, although in those days it wasn't recognized as that. Consequently, he was placed in a Mental Hospital in the Waikato area, and died about 1888.

Am trying to find more information, if there is any, about my 2xGreat Uncle, Henry Cummings/Cumming, born 1839 to Thomas Cummings and Miss White.
Henry had 2 brothers, Matthew and Thomas, and all 3 came to New Zealand in the 1860's to fight in the Maori Land Wars.
Henry arrived in Otago Dec 1863 and started in the 3rd Waikato Regiment 28th Dec 1863. His Regiment Number was 1376. He's not the Henry Cummings who went to Boston as that Henry had a daughter 1862. Matthew was my Great Grandad, Thomas was killed in action and not too sure about their sister, Marianne Teresa, born 1837. Did she come to N Z as well? The Marianne mentioned in Ancestry is Matthew's daughter. Henry was born in Kilmore, Thomas was born in Loughilly, and Matthew was born in Tandragee. Who was Miss White, only information I have about her, and what happened to their sister, Marianne Teresa, please?
