Henry Fry Esq.  (c.1701-1786) a merchant from Edenderry, came to Boyle on the invitation of Lord Kingston in 1742 to establish a weaving industry in the town. 

From 1743, Henry Fry Esq. & Mary Fuller of Clara, Co Offaly baptised 1 son and 4 daughters at Boyle Church of Ireland.

In 1752, Henry Fry Esq. married Catherine Mills (d.1786) of Knockhall Co Roscommon and had 3 sons and 2 daughters (Boyle Church of Ireland).

In 1783, Henry Fry Esq of Frybrook Boyle advertised the Lands of Coolcomon near Dunboyne and Batterstown, Co Meath TO LET. [Dublin Evening Post - Tuesday 11 March 1783]

Henry Fry Esq. the first died at Frybrook, Boyle in 1786 [date of Will: 24 April 1786].

 

His first-born son John Fry (1743-96) established Fairyhill Brewery at Knocknashee, Boyle, but died realitvely young.

Henry's surviving son and heir, Henry Fry Jr. of Frybrook (1757-1847) was High Sheriff of County Roscommon in 1797.
