Honora Custy, my great-great grandmother, was born to Dennis Custy and Mary Tuttle in the parish of Kilmaley. They lived in Strasburgh - being west of Ennis on its historic layers. Mahonsburg is the present day name of this area.
Her other siblings included Ellen, Anne, John, Martin and Patrick. Honora and one of her sisters, Anne, came to America arriving in Baltimore, Maryland May 31, 1851 on the Flora MacDonald. Her father Dennis and mother Mary along with her sister Ellen, brother’s Patrick and Martin as well as other Custy relations came to Baltimore the following year on September 6, 1852 arriving on the Scotia.
