Honoria was born 28 February 1864 to Thomas Bourke and Margaret (Maggie) Ryan in Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary, Ireland. The family resided in Foildaragh and most, if not all of their children were baptized in Cashel & Emly, Kilcommon, County Tipperary.
Honoria (Anna) Bourke arrived in New York City on 2 June 1880 on the ship "England" with her parents and her siblings, Peter, Bridget (Delia), and Catherine (Kate). Her other siblings (John, Andrew, Thomas, Michael, Maggie and Mary) may already have immigrated, may have arrived at a later date, or may have stayed in Ireland. We know for sure that her brother, Michael did come to the USA and settled in Schenectady, NY and that Maggie also immigrated and lived in Rotterdam Junction, NY outside of Schenectady where she married a Thomas Ryan.
Four of the sisters had photos taken as a group, in twos, and singly. Anna is the girl standing in the profile photo and her sister, Katie, is seated.
Anna married Michael Hickey and they bought a farm in Ballston Spa, NY where they raised their 5 children, Patrick, Margaret, Catherine, Andrew, and Anna. The farm was eventually lost to foreclosure and Michael got a job with the Railroad, moving his family to Rotterdam Junction, NY.
Anna died of breast cancer in 1908 and is buried with her husband in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Schenectady, NY.
