Hugh Toal married Ann. They lived in Newry.
In 1841, Hugh and Ann migrated to Sydney, NSW, Australia, onboard the ship "England." They travelled with two daughters, Ellen (or Eleanor) and Ann. Ellen was married to Michael Murphy. Michael and Ellen had with them their daughter, Mary Ann, born in Newry in 1838. It seems Michael and Ellen had an infant son, Michael, who died during the voyage. In NSW they all settled in the Liverpool district of Sydney.
Hugh's wife, Ann, died 1 August 1851. Her age at death was given as 61. Hugh died 22 March 1853. His age was given as 70. They are buried in the Liverpool Pioneer Cemetery.
