Yes, thanks Elwyn. I had come to the conclusion that James McConnell is my great great grandfather who married Helena Sherlock. Isabella is his sister who married a Robert (from memory) Nelson. William (I think, but not sure) may be James' brother. Though I came accross a newspaper article about a William McConnell where he'd gilted a girl (Mary, I think her name was) and had gone on to marry an Esther Wallace. Mary had taken William to court about his promise to marry her. There was no mention of a previous marriage in the article. But relationships and places seemed to fit with William. William was born in Ballyrainey, county Down as was James and Isabella to a John McConnell.
I find newspaper articles sometimes fill in the unknown gaps.
