I am searching for any information on King and Fitzgerald families. I believe they lived in Portlaw possibly Garrick Road. Have very little information.

Know that a James King married Mary (Anty) Fitzgerald and they had the following children: Thomas, b 1811 James b 1815, Mary b ?  Margaret b ?.

Margaret left the poor houses in Waterford as part of the first 400 females to come to Australia. She arrived on the SS Panama 1849. Her brother Thomas arrived in Australia aboard the Lady Kennaway in 1854 with his family and they all settled around Kiama in NSW.

Thomas's son James was baptised in Portlaw 12/8/1836 and his sponsors were a Mary King and C Gillaker.

In the Applotment Book 1823-37 there was a James King Townland of Monteenmore Parish of Dungarvan Kilkenny and also a J King townland Ballydwan Parish Ballylaneen 1826.
