Re: McAleer-Sherry Ancestors – from Co. Monaghan, Ireland
Hello –
My research has located McAleer & Sherry ancestors originally from county Monaghan, Ireland. They moved to Manchester, England in the late 1850’s and were listed in the 1861 UK Census. They later moved to Pittsburgh, PA. Specifically:
- John Frances Sherry (b. 1826 - d. 1911) and Catherine McAleer (b. 1832 - d. 25 Oct 1893). They were married in Belfast in 1850 and later moved to Manchester England and lived and worked and had five children before moving to Wilkinsburg, near Pittsburgh, PA. Together they had 12 children.
