My 3X great grandfather, James Mitchell was born in the townland of Crann, County Armagh in 1758.  He married Sarah Hamilton (b.1778 in townland of Gortmalegg, County Armagh). They were married about 1805 in County Armagh and had 5 children. James and Sarah Mitchell and sons Robert and James all emigrated to Ontario, Canada in the early 1800s.. Robert was my great, great grandfather. Other children were: Jane (b.1807 County Armagh, m. William McMahon, d. 1832 in Belfast), Alexander (b. 1813 County Armagh, joined Royal Artillery, d.07 May 1839 at Woolwich, England)

My 3X great grandmother, Sarah Hamilton was a daughter of Alexander Hamilton and a "Miss" Hamilton who were married 01 May 1752 in Tynan Church, Townland of Lemnagore, County Armagh. Alexander and his wife had 7 children, of whom Robert and George worked in the Dry Goods trade in Belfast. Family history has it that a son, Alexander, helped build a bridge over the Blackwater River.

Alexander & "Miss" Hamilton also had two other sons, James and John (no further info) and another daughter Elizabeth who married a Mr. Robinson. The Robinsons had a daughter Mary who married a Mr Gordon
